Located on the southbound side of US-1 (a favorite of shunpikers in the Northeast, and especially in New Jersey, where it provides a free alterrnative to the NJ Turnpike), the Edison Diner is one of my favorite places to stop when I make my near-weekly runs between NYC and Philadelphia.

The food quality is very good, as is the case with New Jersey diners in general, in my experience. The selection is perhaps a bit more extensive than that of the typical diner, however, and the portions are HUGE. The service is also excellent, and the servers are very attentive.

The Edison Diner also is only a few minutes south of the Outerbridge Crossing, which is free Jersey-bound; and is a great place to eat and pee if you've been sitting stuck in traffic on I-278 and NY/NJ 440 out of New York.

New Jersey diners are famous for their quality, and the Edison Diner is one of the best I've been to. Highly recommended!
